About the Role
Do you want to become part of an energetic, informal team and gain experience in different disciplines, varying from consultancy to finance? Then this is something for you!
As an intern at Gate Invest, you will learn about all aspects of the investing and portfolio management. You will actively assist the investment team with ongoing and new transactions (e.g. purchase, sale, and financing) and independently make the first analysis and assessment of new investment opportunities. You will support the mapping of companies and the markets in which they operate. There is plenty of room for your ideas, together with the team, you will develop investment hypotheses for new investments and create sourcing strategies. You will also support the management teams of our portfolio companies in the realization of their ambitions with strategic projects.
Requirements
★ Entrepreneurial and energetic team player, not afraid of a challenge;
★ Highly analytical, able to break down a problem and work independently;
★ Outstanding record of academic achievement combined with extra-curricular interests;
★ Working on your master’s degree in Finance, Business
Administration, Accounting, or Econometrics, or you just received your degree;
★ Available for 4-6 months and speak fluent Dutch and good English;
★ Previous internship experience in a professional environment (Investment Banking, Transaction Services or Strategy Consultancy) is preferred.

We focus on mid-sized companies with clear growth perspectives in the Benelux. We invest in growing and profitable companies with healthy margins. With a team of 9 dedicated investment professionals and an in-house marketing team (De Studio), we help entrepreneurs and management teams with realizing their goals. We support organic growth, expand into new markets and provide hands-on support with buy and build strategies.
Our portfolio companies are active in various sectors, such as renewable energy, Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC), healthcare, food service and business services. In addition to building our current portfolio companies, we are fully engaged in new platform investments.
